Do you trust Hillary with the powers of the Patriot Act?
Patriot Act, under President Hillary
I'm on record as having opposed the Patriot Act from the very beginning. I don't think we needed to compromise the rights of American citizens and I certainly didn't trust the government -- any government, with increased powers over us.
But now, with the real prospect of that evil cunt Hillary infesting the Oval Office in a little more than a year, how do you feel about Hillary having the powers of the Patriot Act?
Give the Klinton familiy proclivity for retribution against political rivals, I find it pretty fucking scary.

If people were afraid of domestic wire-tapping now, just wait. She'll probably use it for dirt digging. Watch out Conservative Thought!

i'm saying i trust her, becuase either she'll use those powers wisely (i hope) or she'll abolish the act alltogether... in anycase it's not like she's won yet, there's still a lot of ground to be covered

Re: Patriot Act, under President Hillary
The Patriot Act is a tough one. I am for giving the tools needed to gather information on our enemies. The troubles we have with a lot of that is the preponderance of legislation that has hog tied our government.
On the other hand, it is like an unguarded cookie jar for the inscrupulous. I don't trust Hillary for anything but to advance herself. I still am unsatisfied with the Vince Foster death explainations, Travelgate (I am really tired though of every scandal being named "gate"), the FBI files they had in the office and so on. Of her and Bill, I would trust Bill more. That is a scary thought.
No to trusting her. I don't have a lot of faith in the current administration, I can't imagine what her's would do if she had power.

Ah you silly kids, you really have lost all faith in your political system haven't you? If the person who like is in office, they can do whatever they want, but if its those socialist swine then you're all afraid of your rights being infringed and a dictatorship being created. I'm more afraid of the person who proposed the Patriot Act than the one who is going to inherit it. Should never have existed at all; a blatant infringement on people's rights. And don't give me some crap about how some of our rights have to be restricted to catch those nasty terrorists because thats the road to authoritarian government, not progressive taxation or secular schools or whatever else bugs you. And thats my rant for the day, see you all tomorrow for another episode of 'What's His Problem?'

The Patriot Act is, in and of itself, an invitation for government abuse.

Only children and commies believe in government, the rest of us know that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In the US I figure we're about a decade or so away from having to renovate our government just to remind them that "We the people" are in charge.

I'm not a big fan of centralised government myself, I think more decisions need to be made at a regional level with greater involvement from the people. Grassroots democracy should be the goal.
Good grief, a socialist who doesn't believe in a dictatorship? I must be sick
